KGL Resources is an Australian mineral exploration company focused on developing its copper, zinc and lead mine at its Jervois Base Metal Project in the Northern Territory.

The project is in Central Australia and has been granted Major Project Status by the Northern Territory Government.

The Northern Territory Environment Protection Authority (NT EPA) determined that the project required an environmental impact statement (EIS), which requires a social impact assessment (SIA).

True North was engaged to consult with the people and communities that could potentially be affected by the project and prepare a social impact assessment to assess the project’s possible positive and negative social and cultural impacts.

True North travelled hundreds of kilometres to meet with residents from nearby Indigenous communities, businesses, pastoralists and industry representatives to investigate the social impacts of the proposed mine for KGL Resources’ environmental approvals process.

The NT EPA recommended the Northern Territory Government approve the Jervois Base Metal Project with final approval pending, subject to finalising a Mining Management Plan.
