In-house support

True North filled a critical gap by dedicating a team member for three months while AFLNT recruited a new media manager. We had the public relations and media skills to hit the ground running, ensuring consistency and a seamless transition for the client.

AFLNT is the peak sporting body for Australian rules football in the Northern Territory and manages the league from grassroots to senior footy. The league needed a media manager and True North was on board to provide in-house support while they recruited to the position.

True North dedicated an experienced team member with prior sports media experience who managed all proactive and reactive media activities and social media. The role required the ability to source and pitch a good news story to media that connects with the organisation’s goals and operations. Our extensive experience in public relations and media support allowed us to grasp this link quickly all while keeping up with a new and fast faced environment.

True North also managed the broadcast of NTFL games across NITV and YouTube each weekend. Our existing relationships with media and solid understanding of the Territory’s media landscape were crucial to the success of this role. We ensured AFLNT continued to promote one of Australia’s best loved sports and were on hand to provide issues management support when needed.
