ChatGPT: What is it and how can we use it?

If you have spent any time online or watching the news lately, you have probably heard of a new AI device that is taking the world by storm: ChatGPT.

But what is it?

ChatGPT is an online AI platform that uses deep learning techniques to provide human-like responses to questions or task requests. This means that ChatGPT can assist you in everyday tasks, from planning a birthday party to creating content for your new website.

So, what do ChatGPT’s abilities mean for the future of strategic communication and PR?

In essence, ChatGPT is a support device to increase productivity and efficiency for businesses. By leveraging the power of artificial intelligence, ChatGPT enables businesses to focus on more critical work by streamlining various tasks, including:

Automated content creation
Creating content can be time-consuming, but ChatGPT can be used to generate content quickly and efficiently, freeing up capacity to work on more strategic initiatives. It provides a good foundation on which to build and refine content.

Real-time customer engagement
ChatGPT can be programmed to respond to frequently asked questions or customer queries, reducing the need for a human customer service representative around the clock. Businesses can ensure their customers feel heard and valued, while allowing staff to focus on more larger and complex questions.

Data analysis
Data analysis is a crucial aspect of all strategic business ventures and ChatGPT can assist in analysing data and providing insights into customer behaviour, market trends, and other relevant metrics. However, the current form of ChatGPT is limited in its access to real-time information and a lot of preparation work is needed to enable ChatGPT to analyse data effectively.

Brand consistency
ChatGPT can help maintain brand consistency across all platforms by providing a consistent tone and voice across content to maintain a unified brand.

Although ChatGPT does offer great support for businesses in developing their communication materials, it does not have the ability to think strategically and plan to leverage real-time opportunities. ChatGPT only provides a starting point from which communication can be refined and built upon, streamlining the process for businesses, but ultimately it is unable to provide the same holistic service as a human worker.
